"With great power, there must also come great responsibility."

Hi there, my name is Jake Wilkinson. I'm 22 years old and am pursuing a bachelor's degree in Journalism with a minor in technical communication. I go to the University of North Texas and have volunteered for the North Texas Daily for about 3 and a half years. Originally, I'm from Oahu, Hawaii, and have moved all over the world due to my dad's former role in the Navy. My nurse mum and big sister have always looked out for me, and we've been settled in the Lone Star State for almost 6 years.

I've always loved storytelling, from TV to movies and video games, and I want to spread that passion with the world by reporting, writing, and editing the latest features and profiles as a community journalist, as well as any entertainment news that comes my way.

My dream job is section editor or editor-in-chief of The Washington Post, The New York Times, or one of the various multimedia outlets in Dallas and Austin. When you help someone, you help everyone, and that's what I believe journalism and the world need right now: hope. Thank you for reading. Here's a link to my resume for my qualifications: https://docs.google.com/docume...

"Journalism can never be silent: That is it's greatest virtue and its greatest fault. It must speak, and speak immediately, while the echoes of wonder, the claims of triumph and the signs of horror are still in the air."

Henry Grunwald
